CAKE INGREDIENTS
½ cup of plant-based milk
1 cup flour
¾ cup cocoa powder
3 tablespoons of cornstarch
1 cup brown sugar
1 pinch of salt
¼ cup water
1/3 cup olive oil
1 level tablespoon of yeast
1 dessert spoon of instant coffee
1 teaspoon vanilla
Vegetable butter to grease the pan
As I always say: the idea here is to make life easier with uncomplicated vegan recipes, and this one is no different! So, let's get started!
First, choose a small baking dish of your choice. Grease it with vegetable butter and sprinkle with flour. Ready? Let's move on to the next step!
Now, separate the ingredients into two bowls: one for the dry ingredients and one for the liquid ingredients. Start by sifting the dry ingredients, which include flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, brown sugar, salt, baking powder, and instant coffee. This step is essential to make the cake lighter, ensure that it rises well, and also avoid any unwanted "surprises" in the ingredients.
In the other bowl, mix the liquids: plant-based milk, water, olive oil and vanilla essence.
Then, just gradually add the liquids to the dry ingredients, stirring until everything is well combined. Easy, right? All you have to do is pour the mixture into the greased pan, place it in the oven preheated to 170ºC and wait for about 20 minutes. A simple, practical and delicious recipe!
SYRUP INGREDIENTS
1 cup 65% vegan chocolate - chips or chopped
¾ vegetable cream – substitute for heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
PREPARATION
Take the chocolate and place it in a glass bowl. Put it in the microwave, but don't forget about it! Stop every 20 seconds to give it a basic stir until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
Now it's time to add the special touch: add the vegetable cream and vanilla essence. Mix well until you get a velvety cream. Voilà! Just spread this deliciousness over the cake and get ready to savor every bite. Simple, quick and delicious!
TIP
Nowadays, vegetable cream for ganache is very easy to find in almost any supermarket, and there are several brands available for you to choose from. However, if you can't find it, a great alternative is to use coconut milk, the kind sold in glass bottles.
